Youth Program

Cherokee Gun Club offers young individuals and youth groups the opportunity to experience the shooting sports of their choice using some of the finest shooting venues available in Georgia.  These private facilities are offered at very low cost for the express purpose of introducing young people to the fun and excitement of shooting sports, in a safe, all-weather, covered, outdoor environment.

We typically open 1 day, on the third weekend of each month (see the calendar below) with a planned maximum of 10 shooters.  Individuals and groups must make reservations in advance by contacting the number below.  If your youth group is larger than 15 shooters, then special dates or times may be required.  Shooting ranges for all Club activities are reserved on a “first come, first served” basis, so if you have specific requirements, then make your reservations well in advance.

CGC is able to offer facilities for .22 rifle, center-fire rifle, trap, skeet, sporting clays, and other shooting sports with responsible adult coaching.  To make your group outing a success, we also have a covered picnic pavilion with seating for 60, and other amenities.  Initiate a conversation by texting the number below for more information.  And thanks for visiting !

► For details and reservations, please contact us at: 678-360-2045

► Once your youth is proven proficient in gun safety, they are also welcome to shoot at regular monthly CGC matches, such as Sporting Clays or Trap, posted elsewhere on this web page.  All youth, 8 to 18, are welcome to participate in any CGC Match at greatly reduced costs.  For more details, contact the Match Leader of those disciplines.

Special Note: We get lots of calls from parents looking for shooting teams.  Our program is not a team, or an organized group. The CGC Youth Program simply offers a facility for non-member youth to shoot, in a safe and structured environment. However, we are in contact with numerous north Georgia youth teams that use our facility.  Check these 3 resources:

Most youth teams form in September and end in May.

► Congratulations to Union County 4H Youth Shotgun who had teams finish in 2nd and 9th place in the State tournament in Savannah, June 2021. Missing 1st place by only 8 targets !! This is an amazing feat considering that they practice twice a month, yet shoot against teams that practice 3 times a week.
