Blast From the Past – Bill LaPointe

In the first article in this column I included a picture of a CGC plaque and asked if anyone knew where it was.  Eagle eyed Joe O’Leary spotted where it was located.  It is incorporated in a commemorative plaque dedicated to the memory of Joe L. Roberts.  There actually two plaques.  The one on the right was the original and it was incorrectly centered and that was brought to the attention of the local business that made it by Jon Cronic and they agreed to remake it and is the one on the left.  Since the original one was going to be scrapped, Jon asked if he could have it and he still has the original today.  Paul Clarkson won the second one, he thinks in a raffle or door prize.  Charlie Craft, at a later date, told Paul that he needed the plaque and it is in it’s current location today.

Please look at the pictures below.  I believe they were taken in 1983 when the clubhouse at Buckhorn Mountain was built.  I would like to have the names of the members in the pictures and some of your memories if I can.  Please let me know by email wjl@lanierjewelry.com.
