Part of my job as club historian is to insure that those events that occur that might have historical significance to our club be recorded. My buddy and fellow Marine, Bob Honiball organized the first USMC Reserve Toys for Tots Trap Shoot at CGC on November 29, 2022.  Bob passed away this year and the BOD has made the decision to make this an annual event in honor of Bob.  Bob was a US Marine Corps Officer, a 1^st Lieutenant,  and a decorated Vietnam combat veteran as well as a strong supporter of Toys for Tots.  As part of the first event, a very large cake was brought for the participants and Bob cut the cake with his USMC officers dress sword.  Bob’s wife has graciously donated that sword to our club so that we can continue on with Bob’s tradition.  

Toys for Tots is a great organization!  97.5% of all money raised goes directly to gifts for children.  NO salaries are paid from donations!  With Bob’s passing, Andrew Wasely and myself have taken on continuation of Bob’s Toys for Tots annual trap shoot fund raiser with the agreement that Andrew does all the work and I get all the credit, which is only fair!  This years Bob Honiball Memorial Toys for Tots Trap Shoot will be held on Saturday November 11. 2023 (The day after the Marine Corps birthday!) Starting at 8AM There is no charge for the match, but your huge donations are solicited!  Make checks payable to: USMC Reserve -Toys for Tots.  There will be containers for donations at the shoot and they are tax deductable.  Both personal and Company sponsorships are available and include 50 targets each for 2 of your guests.  Please come out and support this great cause!
